Students will discover who Extinction Rebellion and Greta Thunberg are, what they and similar groups and people are trying to achieve, why the urgency and why some people oppose some of the current methods of protest. Students will then form their own views on whether peaceful protest is really enough in the face of a global climate emergency. 1 hour, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2 which serves as an introduction to FGM. Pupils will explore the idea of a rite of passage before investigating what FGM is, how it maims girls and why this ritual is still performed today. Pupils will also be made aware of how to access help and report any suspicions or worries they have about FGM affecting a friend or themselves. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to. Who are EC Resources?
